Bought him a good set of diamond hones and whenever one needs sharpning, I let him have it and carry my spare. Heard it said once every one should have a good knife with two blades, one for castrating hogs and one for the lunchtime apple. How many times have you watched a movie or tv show where if only someone carried a pocketknife, the day would be saved?Ĭurrent favorite is cheap Barlow, I tend to lose them at the worst times, so it is no big loss, carried a 4" Buck for a long time but it is too bulky, plus my Barlow is just the right size to prop open the fuel nozzle. I haven't felt that overwhelmed in many years by a vehicle. Felt real good but it was one of the worst jobs I have done in a long time. Yeah, Got the "monkey" off my back and outof my service bays at noon today. I've got a gerber where the blade is spring loaded and swings out very easily. If I ever break or lose this one, I'd definately try to find another. Use it every day it seems and is still holding up very well. BIL calls it the 'man killer'.bout a 4" blade. I've got a Buck knife that I bought from Walmart years and years ago. The pliers are needle nose and come in pretty handy! The carry case also has a flap with a snap so it's pretty secure in there! I also carry a Buck utility tool called a buck tool, it has a thick nylon carrying case and has two blades in it. It also has the clip and I carry it on the inside of my pocket so that the clip is all that is sticking out. If the blade gets dull I just reverse it or pop in a new one. Probably not what you are after but I carry a sheffield lockback razor knife. Leather Man Multi Tool cant work without it. He said he would be lost without it for one day let alone a week! I did get all my groomsmen a Spyderco knife as a gift, two of them still have them. I will agree, seems like I'm missing part of myself if I don't have it. I just get the cheap Case IH ones we sell at the parts counter, last a couple months then they are shot or broken. I've lost too many (4 ) of those pricey Spyderco knives. Seems to hold its edge better than other knives i've had too. quick touch up with a honing stone every so often keeps it really sharp. I also like that it's a non serrated blade, makes stripping wires easier. I like the Gerber lockblade with a pocket clip so I can get at it with a glove on and dont have to dig around keys and other pocket crap to get it. I have carried several as I keep losing them.
